• Identify a solution to one of those challenges and move on immediate action to accomplish within 12 months

• Leverage the Action Challenge into a collaborative, accountable, 12 month Task Force

Inspired by your contributions and presentations, three months ago, we finished ATS22 at LaConcha with 3 bold commitments to impact high-priority obstacles selected by vote during ATS22.

1. Clean Energy Workforce Day - develop and host a clean energy and resilience workforce day in coordination with public and private organizations to leverage resources so that Puerto Rico can attract, develop and grow the (50,000+?) new energy workforce Puerto Rico needs. This new workforce is essential to local, equitable wealth creation and successful delivery of a revitalized, healthy and resilient power system for Puerto Rico.

2. Energy >< Industry Connect Day - develop and host a technical workshop among utilities, critical energy users, regulators and solution providers where technical needs and solutions can be discussed.

3. Celebrate Success! - Demonstrate and celebrate what winning looks like when we overcome these critical, interdependent obstacles with an Impact Award Celebration.

For the last year and half, the 2020/21 #IRAC Task Force was charged with the development of the Resilience Scorecard. Interdisciplinary Task Force of stakeholders from all sectors of the Caribbean volunteered their time and resources to build and design the Scorecard.

The Scorecard will provide a pathway for allowing countries to:

• Effectively allocate scarce resources

• Link strategy to budgeting

• Prioritize resilience projects and resources

• Create strategic and capital plans

• Measure the impact of philanthropy and investment projects.

IRAC Background:

The Island Resiliency Action Challenge (IRAC), which is funded annually by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Canada and sponsored by New Energy Events and Advanced Energy Group was launched in 2018. The Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) is a key strategic partner for IRAC.

IRAC has become a critical and dynamic avenue for problem-solving and collaboration focused on building the resilience of the region by bringing together island policymakers, utilities, regulators, financiers, developers, and manufacturers as a strategic think-tank. The goals of IRAC are to build consensus around hurdles in the Caribbean and identify regional resiliency challenges and actionable solutions indigenous to the region that can be accomplished within 12 month sprints.
