AEG MEDIA FELLOWSHIP

Advanced Energy Group (AEG) convenes leading sustainability stakeholders across cities in the U.S. and the Caribbean to promote thought leadership, education and the development of needed solutions to the climate crisis. To further facilitate diverse, constructive, stakeholder dialogue and manifest a sustainable, equitable and resilient energy future, AEG is excited to launch a Media Fellowship program. In parallel, AEG invites leaders across the media landscape to participate in Stakeholder Challenges and mentor a new generation of climate storytellers, the inaugural class of Media Fellows.

For centuries, leaders have relied on storytelling to persuade and inspire. Stories have the power to educate, captivate, instill hope, and, importantly, drive action. The AEG Media Fellows represent a movement. And that movement’s message is that saving humanity takes all of humanity. AEG Media Fellows are a network of communicators across borders uniting on delivering the message that there is reason to hope and join this fight.

WHAT IS THE AEG MEDIA FELLOWSHIP?

Media Fellows are activists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, and passionate communicators that will:

  • Video Production - Attend live Stakeholder Challenges to record the events, interview participants, craft highlight reels and longer form video content for AEG’s existing communication channels

  • Collaborative Media Strategy - Explore potential pathways and develop strategies for increasing public awareness of the impacts of AEG’s work, and collaborate with the AEG Media Fellows in other cities to synthesize storytelling across regions (e.g. solicit entries for a “climate film festival”)

  • Build a Network - Represent the AEG Media Fellowship at their school and perform outreach to media practitioners and educators

  • Writing Contributions - Research, write, and publish blog posts to demonstrate the power of media on climate action

  • Analyze Impact - Analyze impacts of AEG Media Fellows work using quantitative and qualitative metrics

An AEG Media Lead Fellow will be responsible for managing outreach to build a network of leaders/mentors in journalism, TV & film, and PR to support AEG’s media strategies, AEG Media Fellows, participate in Stakeholder Challenges, and coordinate communication between Media Fellows.

AEG Media Fellows have access to the invite-only AEG Stakeholder Challenges in select cities, all registration costs will be covered. Travel expenses may be reimbursed, with pre-approval.
