At RE+23 in Las Vegas, Advanced Energy Group convened the Climate, Health and Equity Stakeholder Challenge in partnership with ImpactNV, and RE+ Events. Participants agreed on, and volunteered to overcome the following obstacle to collectively overcome in 12 months: Inclusive collaboration to unlock funding for employment driven workforce development, solar, EV and storage opportunities in high-priority communities such as Ward 5 & 6.
A volunteer task force was formed consisting of 12 cross-sectional leaders. Led by Musa Pam (UNLV) and Dave Ray (ImpactNV), the task force is focused on delivering this 90-Day Sprint & 12-Month goal:
90 Day: Convene a team of firms and community champions in conjunction with Ward 3 and 5 leadership to identify critical needs/barriers, potential funding and align on North Star success metrics.
12 Month: Assemble essential data to focus on barriers and opportunities in the 5th and 6th wards to take advantage of Solar for all, CCIA, NCIF, EPA, DOE, The Electrical Contractor Apprenticeship, etc to deliver an employment driven, community focused workforce plan.
