On December 15th @ Holland & Knight LLP in Boston, James Goudreau, Head of Environmental Sustainability External Engagement, Novartis participated in AEG's Climate, Health, Equity Nexus: A Strategic Action Roundtable.

This Roundtable was an initial strategy session to discuss approach, outreach, and engagement for 2022 on Novartis' 10 year commitment to “achieve a paradigm shift in education and health equity.”

Compared with non-Hispanic whites, Black/African Americans have a lower life expectancy, a higher mortality rate from cancer, a dramatically greater likelihood of diseases such as asthma, and significantly increased rates of infant mortality. Some of these health disparities are further exacerbated by minorities’ increased exposure to negative environmental factors such as air pollution, excessive heat, and poorer water quality…”

Success in this endeavour will require inclusive, effective dialogue that leads to real results.
