Held on February 6th, 2025 at WSP USA in New York, fifty public and private industry leaders convened for the AEG New York 25Q1 Stakeholder Challenge: Hydrogen + Critical Infrastructure. The purpose of this challenge was to: 1.) Agree on a critical obstacle preventing achievement of New York's hydrogen and critical infrastructure goals;  2.) Align on a 90-day sprint and 12-month objective to best address this obstacle; and 3.) Enable stakeholders to create a volunteer Task Force accountable for delivering the agreed solution.

Organized by the TCL New York 24Q3 Grid Modernization Task Force and in partnership with NY-BEST, this roundtable aimed to address permitting and financing challenges for energy storage deployment in NYC buildings, enhance collaboration among key stakeholders, and outline a 90-day sprint to drive actionable outcomes. Discussions centered on expediting permitting processes, securing financing for medium-sized energy storage systems (ESS), and aligning local policy with ambitious climate goals.

This workshop, organized by TCL NYC Health, Energy & Equity Task Force Members, aimed to collaborate with select CBOs to address the challenge of expanding equitable energy assistance and access to clean energy in underserved communities, coordinating next steps for team organization, and determining how to best benefit the community, with a focus on connecting with stakeholder groups, identifying funding opportunities, and planning for a 90-day sprint to bridge resource gaps.

Agree on a regional and citywide critical obstacle to meet the Northeast’s clean transportation goals;  2.) Align on a 90-day sprint and 12-month objective to best address these obstacles; and 3.) Enable stakeholders to volunteer as part of a Task Force to deliver these solutions.
