On June 15th, Washington Advanced Energy held its Q2 2017 Stakeholder Breakfast at the headquarters of the U.S. Green Buildings Council in Washington, D.C. The event focused on the District’s clean energy transition through the lens of Smart Buildings & the Grid Modernization of Cities.
Throughout the breakfast, Discussion Leaders and stakeholders assessed the challenges posed by the energy-efficient retrofitting of existing building-stock as well as the construction of new buildings hoping to achieve net-zero status. Additionally, the group proposed solutions for the modernizations of district energy grids through a variety of economic and technological tools.
